Yamaha CDR-HD1300 CD Recorder - Hard Drive Combo
This an upgraded version of the previously listed Yamaha CDR-HD1000. The CDR-HD1300 is a CD recorder/hard drive combo with an increased hard drive capacity of 80GB. This is enough space to store 120 CDs! You can also dub from external analog or digital audio sources to the HD or dub from CD to HD at 10x speed and then record from the HD to CDR at 8x or CDRW at 4x speed. You also have the option of playing music from either the hard drive or CD. The CD-1300 also has CD-Text capability.

Here is an interesting twist on the CD recorder concept. This unit combines a CD player/recorder with 20GB hard drive storage capacity. With the CDR-HD1000 you can dub from external analog or digital audio sources to the HD or dub from CD to HD at 10x speed and then record from the HD to CDR at 8x or CDRW at 4x speed. You also have the option of playing music from either the hard drive or CD.
Denon CDR-W1500
This exellent CD-R/CD-RW recorder from Denon has separate CD and CD-R/CD-RW drives in a single unit. Capable of recording from both internal and external audio sources, the 1500 also has the ability to playback HDCD encoded discs and copy HDCD encoding onto a CD-R/RW. The 1500 also features both analog and digital audio inputs and outputs. Besides recording, its also an excellent CD player.
Sony RCD-W500C CD Recorder
Enjoy the benefits of a five-disc CD changer and recorder in one. The Sony RCD-W500C can mix selections in any order from the five disc changer and record them onto your "customized" CD-R/RW. This unit also features 4X high speed dubbing, CD-Text, and MP3-CD playback. The RCD-W500C also has both analog and digital audio inputs for recording from any source. Also, with both analog and digital audio output, this unit can be in corporated in a variety of audio or home theater setups.
Tascam CDRW750 CD Recorder
Made by Teac's professional division, Tascam, the CDRW750 is, none-the-less, an affordable option in a high-quality CD recorder. Featuring both analog and digital audio input and output capability, plus 24 bit digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital audio converters, as well as both analog and digital gain and fade controls. This unit definitely deserves consideration for those making their own CDs, or copying from CD, Cassette, or vinyl record source material.
Pioneer PDR-609 CD Recorder
This is my personal favorite CD recorder. This is a single-well machine with both digital and analog inputs, great record synchro function, easy to hook-up and use. Does a great job recording from analog sources, such as Turntables or Audio Cassette Decks. Great tool for preserving your old vinyl on CD. A great buy. NOTE: This unit might be very hard to find, as it is no longer in production, but it is worth the chase, especially if you can find one in good condition.
Pioneer PDR-W839 CD Recorder
This unit has 3-CD playback on one side and a CD recording tray on the other. Not only can you record from one CD to another, but you can program to mix and change the order of cuts from three source discs at once. It also has a 3X speed dubbing feature. The PDR-W839 also has digital and analog inputs for recording from external sources and an input for a PS/2 keyword to access text functions.
