1. Which video devices or capture cards are supported by miniPCTV?
miniPCTV supports all video devices designed for windows. This includes video capture cards, video cards with video-in lines, tv tuner cards, cameras, web cams. Always make sure your video device drivers are up to date and properly installed.


2. What are the minimum system requirements?
miniPCTV works with Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4+, 2000 and XP.
CPU: Pentium 90 or better
Memory: 32MB (64MB or more recommended)
Hard drive space: 1MB for installation, additional space for video recording as needed

When choosing a video card, we suggest that you select one that supports hardware overlay. This delegates all video processing power to the video hardware and frees up your system resources for other tasks.

3. What video resolutions are supported by miniPCTV?
miniPCTV supports the all resolutions supported by your video hardware. Please refer to the technical specifications of your hardware for a list of the supported modes.


4. Can miniPCTV be used with NTSC, PAL or SECAM video signals?
Yes. However your video capture device and drivers need to support those modes too. Please refer to the technical specifications of your hardware for a list of the supported modes.


5. What is the maximum duration for a video capture session?
You are only limited by available storage on your hard drive. Choosing a good compression codec can reduce storage requirements dramatically. Check our DivX page for information about how to get one of the popular compression codecs.


6. When selecting a video source I get the following message: Capture device not ready or already in use?
The video capture device is already in use by another application. Some of the applications that could be holding your device are video editing software and video conferencing applications. Try closing all programs, or rebooting your system.
Device drivers are not installed, corrupted or not appropriate for your version of Windows. Try to re-install the drivers supplied buy the manufacturer. Check for the lates updates on the manufacturer's web site. If using windows XP make sure you have the correct drivers installed. Many products need updated drivers to function correctly under XP.
