The Jayzen Acoustic Bass Virtual Instrument is a sample library of a 1950?s era stand-up Acoustic Bass, played with the fingers. It was recorded through a tube compressor, and a bit of EQ added to bring out the full instrument tone.
There are 4 separate patches available in this Soundfont format Virtual Instrument:
Patch 0: JVI AcBass solo
This is the basic solo patch. It plays the individual solo notes and is the patch you will use most often. It also contains a copy of the ABass Fx patch located in the 5th octave above the solo notes, so that these sounds can be added in live.
Patch 1: JVI AcBass sl-dn
This is a collection of notes which slide downward immediately after they are struck. The initial pitch of the slide corresponds to the MIDI note that is played.
Patch 2: JVI AcBass sl-up
A similar collection of notes, but which slide upward immediately after they are struck.
Patch 3: JVI AcBass fx
This is a collection of special effects sounds ? string scrapes, string slaps, and various bridge hits. They are mapped onto 4 keys, with velocity sensitive mapping. Play around with these a bit and you will hear how they can be used ? they are quite intuitive.
