AC3Tools Pro includes AC3 Decoder, AC3 Demuxer, and AC3 Encoder.

AC3 Decoder processes multi-channel AC3 file into two-channel I?3, WMA, WAV or Ogg Vorbis files. The algorithm used in AC3 Decoder splits audio channels to reach surrounding effect as if you were listening to original AC3 file at 5.1 audio system.

According to Dolby Laboratories' recommendations, the number of profiles built in AC3 Decoder contains both Dolby Prologic & Dolby Prologic II profiles. The conversion results in double-channel audio-file that can be divided by hardware AV-receiver into full-bandwidth surround sound.

AC3 Decoder contains multiple settings to correct decoding process such as limitation of power of outgoing signal, normalization of voice-channel, etc.

AC3 Demuxer enables to split each channel from original AC3 file into a separated file.

AC3 Encoder provides the encoding process of AC3 file from separate WAV PCM-files without mixing consoles. It is a sophisticated encoder that offers superior audio performance.

Furthermore, AC3 file may be used for DVD-mastering or as the sound-track for DivX/XViD movies.

Advanced AC3 Decoder engine

AC-3 format file may contain up to 6 audio channels. AC3Tools Pro combines the information from these channels into two encoded channels, which deliver to each of your ears, via conventional stereo headphones, its own unique sum of direct and reflected sound from each virtual speaker. As a result, the listening sensation is much more natural, with sounds appearing "out-of-head".


Mux profiles

AC3Tools Pro contains the main mixing profiles that have also the Prologic Dolby Prologic II profiles included. As the result the output files has two sound channels and could be spread out by hardware AV receiver to the volumetric sound.
